Update from the broker: “We are exploring options throughout Dupont right now that we think the existing ATP will appreciate that have the ability to launch a solid food menu and continue to be a neighborhood soccer and sports destination, but we haven’t made any decisions on the space yet.

Will definitely be before the World Cup!”

Wowza. OK the tipsters have come through with Across the Pond/Sign of the Whale news.

Yesterday we broke the news that Across the Pond had closed on Connecticut Ave but would likely be moving somewhere in the neighborhood. After earlier posting that the Sign of the Whale‘s business license had been canceled an ANC rep teased us, “You came close to solving this today” after previously telling us “Another bar in the neighborhood is planning to relocate there after doing some renovations. I don’t think it’s public yet so I’ll hold off on revealing which one.”

A lot of ups and downs at this space but SakuSaku Flakerie will for sure be missed here. Unclear if the Turkish place coming next door will be taking over this space too but we’ll be sure to update when construction begins.
