From an email:
“After nearly a decade rolling along H Street NE, the DC Streetcar is nearing its final stop. On Sunday, March 29, the public is invited to gather for “The Last Ride,” a send-off that leans into humor, nostalgia, and just a little bit of chaos.
Hosted at Gallery O on H from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the free event brings together neighbors, artists, and the streetcar-curious for an evening of live music, drinks, and the opportunity for questionable open mic eulogies. (more…)

1078 Wisconsin Ave, NW previously home to Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls and a Paul Bakery before them.
Last week we shared the, what was to be a bit, premature news from PopUp Bagels:
“We’re excited to announce that PopUp Bagels, the “Not Famous, but Known®” bagel shop, will open its first Washington D.C. store in Georgetown at 1078 Wisconsin Avenue NW on March 27. Please note, due to construction timelines, the confirmed opening dates can be slightly influx and could be subject to change.”
Alas, March 27th was indeed influx. I’m now told that date is no longer on track but an April opening is the goal and we’ll be given one week notice so as not to miss it. Just a little bit longer!

Thanks to Michael for sending some raw nature from North Portal Estates. Incredible.
If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted them to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

A reader sends from Eckington where this lawlessness, apparently, happens frequently. No leash, no cleanup. This is a breakdown of the societal contract. This aggression must not stand. And yes, it’s not the pup’s fault. That’s for sure.

“Supporters urge ANC 4E to endorse modifications to advance project at crucial Tuesday vote
Dance Loft on 14, approved three years ago, is an exciting Ward 4 mixed-use development that includes affordable housing, a performing arts center, retail space, and net-zero energy design. It faced delays due to the city’s unprecedented crisis in affordable housing funding.
The project is now back with new financing and interior modifications, and is seeking a Planned Unit Development modification from the DC Zoning Commission to allow development to finally break ground. The new interior floor plans for the project at 4618 14th Street NW will be considered by the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC4E) on Tuesday, March 24.
