“At approximately 9:47 p.m., on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, First District officers responded to the 700 block of H Street, Northeast, for the report of a shooting. Officers located an adult male suffering gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts the victim was pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives have assumed control over this investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.”

“MPD is on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, NW. One suspect has been shot. No condition at this time. Additional information forthcoming. PIO on the scene.”
“MPD reports the following road closures due to police activity:
3300-3500 blocks of Georgia Avenue, NW, between Lamont Street and Newton Place
Westbound lanes in the 500-600 blocks of Park Road, NW, between Warder Street and Georgia Avenue”

“Multiple shots. May have been related to police traffic stop at Quebec and Georgia.”

“Capital Checkers & Chess is on the move. After four years in Adams Morgan our building is being sold and our lease will not be renewed. We are currently looking for a new space in the district (and would appreciate any leads!).
Our time in AdMo has been a wonderful experience – we were able to meet dozens of new players, expand our chess network, and regularly host tournaments. To thank the community we are hosting a goodbye party on Feb 21st at 6pm at 1750 Columbia Rd. We would appreciate if you can help us spread the word! We will have food, games, and souvenirs.
