Ed. Note: When we posted about the Tatte coming to 14th Street and W Street, NW many folks doubted their success. EVERY single weekend I pass by it, including last weekend, it was packed. That could be more telling about Social Media reactions/commentary but anyway…

A peek at the progress at the coming Tatte in Adams Morgan.

From ABCA:

“On September 10, 2025, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) shut down two businesses for illegal cannabis sales.

The Closure Orders were executed at Chocolate City Wellness, a licensed retailer, and Citgo Gas Station, an unlicensed retailer, due to activities that posed an imminent danger to public health and safety, specifically the sale of illegal cannabis products that were untested by a licensed testing laboratory and lacked the required labeling.

The operation was part of the city’s ongoing enforcement efforts following the enactment of the Medical Cannabis Conditional License and Unlicensed Establishment Closure Clarification Emergency Amendment Act of 2024, which granted ABCA new civil enforcement powers. Since the bill took effect on July 15, 2024, joint agency efforts have resulted in the padlocking of 71 illegal cannabis businesses.
