“Hiring and training are now underway for Wegmans Food Markets’ first store in Northwest Washington, D.C. at City Ridge. Located at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Rodman Street, the store will be part of the historic building formerly occupied by Fannie Mae’s headquarters. The new store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022. Wegmans plans to employ approximately 450 people at this location, including 150 full-time positions. Long time coming but finally getting there.

“The Hearst Park & Pool includes design and construction of two brand new tennis courts with a practice wall, the renovation of the existing soccer field, a new pool and pool house, remediation of site drainage, runoff and erosion issues. The Project will also include landscaping, fencing, site furnishings, amenities, signage, and pathways.”

This edition of Wegmans Watch from a press release “City Ridge is Topping Out!”:

“Roadside Development and NASH, are pleased to announce that City Ridge will top out this week. The last concrete deck for the project was poured on May 18, 2021. This last deck sits on the south end of the lawn in front of the former Fannie Mae building that is currently being redeveloped as the future home of International Baccalaureate’s Global Centre for the Americas. The first of six residential buildings located behind the Fannie Mae building topped out in November 2020, and the last residential building topped out the first week of May 2021. (more…)
