Eight DC beers on tap ♦ Brats on the grill from Cafe Berlin ♦ Homemade pretzels from Das Pretzel Haus ♦ Live German music from Die Drei

We’ll transform the Castle Garden into a biergarten to celebrate the Heurich family’s German heritage. We are delighted to be partnering with the DC Brewers Guild to bring you a one-of-a-kind Oktoberfest experience. Eight beers, one from each Guild member listed below, will be on tap all afternoon in honor of DC’s most successful brewmaster, Christian Heurich (1842-1945). The museum will be open for self-guided tours from 1-2 pm.

Ticket price includes food and unlimited beer. Guests must be 21 or older. Beer list to be posted soon!”

The epic beach exhibit from the building museum is coming to the potentially epic Dupont Underground and they need your help making it happen:

“You might have heard or read somewhere that the Dupont Underground is taking the 650,000+ plastic balls from the National Building Museum’s blockbuster BEACH installation. It’s true! We’ll be holding a competition for a site-specific installation in our space that will use the balls as both inspiration and artistic/design medium.

FIRST, however, we have to transport the balls from the museum to our space. And that’s where YOU come in. We need people to devote a few hours on SEPTEMBER 7 and SEPTEMBER 8 helping us pack the balls, load them in moving trucks, unload them at the other end, and put the boxes in the Dupont Underground.

There are a number of different volunteer opportunities and times to work.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

—The Dupont Underground Team”

Update: An incredibly good source tells me that the bourbon place will be located on the second floor and on the first floor we can expect a Cava Grill and a Citibank.

Finally word of a replacement for the prime Bertucci’s location vacant since Sept. of last year. The liquor license placard for DVL says:

“Light fare to mix with rare bourbons. No hood for food service. DJ and bands on occasion depending on the event. No nude performances. No dancing provided. Seating for 30 and Total Occupancy Load of 250.”

Updates when more details are known.

DJ Nestor
DJ Nestor via GoFundMe

“Dear PoPville,

DJ Nestor was attacked in the early hours on Thursday August 13 in the Dupont Circle area just as he entered his car.

The attacker demanded his wallet as he held a knife to his face and just as Nestor reached out to hand over the wallet, he was stabbed on the neck, face, chest, stomach, head and other parts of his body 7 times.

Thankfully they have released him from the hospital now, however, since he is injured and unable to work his friends and family are trying to raise funds to help pay his medical and living expenses (he is a father of two).

As a DJ, Nestor line of work is usually contractual and does not include a medical plan. As we are aware of this reality, we wish to help him meet his medical bills, pay the necessary medicine and also diminish his loss of income. Please help us?”
