Connecticut and K Street, NW looking north towards L Street
From DDOT:
“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to close one northbound lane of traffic on Connecticut Ave NW from L Street to M Street starting after rush hour Wednesday, June 6. Two lanes will remain open to traffic at all times.
The closure is needed for the installation of a temporary WMATA cooling tower for the Farragut North and Dupont Circle Metro stations. Placement of the temporary cooling tower will close the lane through the fall. (more…)

For 29 years our amazing team has loved you, and we’ve been grateful to be loved by you. We’ve watched 10-year-old customers, and some of our teen-aged summer staffers grow up to bring their own children into Beadazzled. “The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has prepared a draft plan to add a 2nd bike lane along 17th St. The plans propose a two-way bike path (as on 15th St.) from Lafayette Square to New Hampshire Ave and include the busy, mixed-use area between P and R Streets NW. As presented, DDOT would reduce vehicle traffic from 2 lanes to 1 lane (plus a turning lane at the intersections). Existing sidewalks would not be changed. Parking would be reduced by 20 spaces.
