Whoa, I hadn’t seen this video over the weekend. Thanks to Movoly for sending our way:

“There was a false alarm of an active shooter at the Capital Pride Parade today in Washington DC that sent crowds into panic. Thankfully everyone is ok… Stay safe!”

The Washington Post reported:

A man with a BB gun angry at another man for hitting his partner allegedly set off events that led hundreds of people to flee the Capital Pride Parade in Washington on Saturday, fearing a mass shooter, D.C. police said Sunday.”

From the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety:

“.@CapitalPrideDC #PrideDc #DCPride – There is NO Active Shooter at Dupont Circle. There are injuries from people running from what they thought were gunshots. But there is NO ACTIVE SHOOTER at Dupont Circle.”

Updates as soon as/if more information is released:

1735 Connecticut Ave, NW

“Dear PoPville,

There’s a new “business” at 1735 Connecticut Ave NW that seems like an obvious front. My first thought was the latest Dave Eggers reading room, but apparently not. The Googles connect this address to a very odd website (unither.com). My best guess is some sort of “escape the room”, or a new speakeasy. Any insights?” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

My friend and I sat on the steps of the Dupont Circle fountain this past Monday at 6:30 PM. Turns out, both or our shorts were bleached on the seat. See attached photo of my shorts. It took us a few days to connect the dots. Any idea if this has happened to other people? I called 311 and they referred me to the NPS. Sent them an email.”
