From a press release:
“Muncheez, a Middle Eastern fast casual restaurant with locations in Georgetown and Tenleytown, announces the grand opening of its new Dupont Circle location on Friday, August 23, 2019. Located at 1317 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Muncheez Dupont Circle will open doors at 11:00 a.m., and the first 200 people in line will receive a complimentary bowl or signature pita.
The latest additions to the Muncheez menu feature a cauliflower pita made with French fries, lettuce, tomatoes and tahini and a lentil tabbouleh mezze. New components to the eatery’s popular bowls include lentils and baby spinach as a base and fried cauliflower as a protein, expanding the vegan and vegetarian options available for lunch and dinner. Signature Muncheez menu options remain, including chicken and beef shawarmas, hand-rolled spinach pies, kibbes and grape leaves, manakeesh, a Mediterranean-style flatbread, mini pizzas, Nutella crepes, and the option to build your own bowl.

The two-level restaurant offers eat-in options with café and high-top seating for 40, with an open kitchen that invites patrons to enjoy the from-scratch preparation of menu items inspired by Lebanese street food. Catering options for corporate and private events will be a large part of the new Dupont Circle location, including live and interactive shawarma stations. Takeout orders can be conveniently placed and paid for on the Muncheez website so that diners can skip the wait and line, while delivery is available through third party services, including DoorDash, Postmates, and Uber Eats.

The interior of Muncheez Dupont Circle features Beirut-inspired art that invites visitors to get a feel for the city where David Nammour, founder and owner, sampled local food with his family growing up in Lebanon. The colorful stairway of the restaurant is a riff on street art found near the stairs of Saint Nicholas, a “must see” sight in Beirut located only a block away from David’s childhood home. Custom work from artists in Beirut, sourced by Plan BEY adorn the walls.
The restaurant also incorporates quintessential Washington, DC elements, with a mural painted by local artist Matthew McMullen showcasing banners of well-known brands which have been appropriated by worldwide pop culture. The mural is painted on reclaimed wood in an effort to showcase the brick structure typical of area architecture.
“We’re ready and excited for Muncheez Dupont Circle to open,” said David Nammour, Muncheez founder and owner. “The location is a natural meeting spot in the middle of the city, making it the perfect place to experience what authentic and friendly Lebanese hospitality looks, feels, and tastes like for both the lunch crowd and those enjoying our food for dinner or late night.”
Muncheez operating hours are Sunday – Wednesday 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 a.m.; Thursday 11 a.m. – 3:30 a.m.; and Friday – Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 a.m. Muncheez Dupont Circle is located at 1317 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20036.”
