“After welcoming 8,000 visitors in 2018, we are delighted to announce the return of Bloomia’s Field of Tulips to the District.

For one weekend, The Park at CityCenter [1098 New York Ave, NW] will be transformed into an interactive, urban garden covered in more than 40,000 tulips. Guests are welcome to visit the Field of Tulips April 26 – April 28 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Roaming the garden is free to all and tulips may be taken home for $1 a stem with a portion of all proceeds benefitting DC Central Kitchen.”

Kate Raudenbush’s Axis Mundi

The artists will discuss the inspiration for their artworks and their creative processes. Both dates (Saturday, April 13 and Monday, April 15 at 11 a.m.) event are free and open to the public. Each talk and tour will last approximately 1 hour and start at the Connecticut Avenue overlook.”

Sad announcement from Honeysuckle’s owner Friday night:

“I announce with a heavy heart, honeysuckle last service will be tomorrow night. Thanks to all the staff past and present. And thanks to all the wonderful customers that have shown us unbelievable love!”

Honeysuckle opened with great fanfare back in 2017. They had big shoes to fill as this is the space that was previously home to  Vidalia for 20 years. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit announced an arrest has been made in reference to Sexual Abuse offenses that occurred on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in the 1200 Block of 20th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 11:00 pm, the suspect approached the victims at the listed location. The suspect engaged in sexual contact with five victims. The suspect assaulted a sixth victim and attempted to force them to engage in a sexual act. The suspect then took the victim’s property. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. (more…)

The massacre continues following closures in Dupont at 1301 Connecticut Avenue, NW and 21st and P and the one on 77 H Street, NW, AND 9th and G St, NW as well as the closure in Glover Park and 18th and I St, NW yesterday.

“Known and loved by many as the “Secret Starbucks,” the SB inside JW Marriott is permanently closed (may she Rest In Peace) and is not currently being replaced by anything.”
