Curious if WMATA has a timeline for fixing the roof over the Columbia Heights metro escalator. Three glass panels are damaged, at least one from what looks like a bullet hole. I’m concerned about water dripping onto the escalator and creating a fall risk.”

Scott writes August 1st: “Absolute DAGGER restaurant news. Mi Cuba Cafe in Columbia Heights has closed permanently. This was the best Cuban in DC and a great space. Best mojito around. Was planning to hold my 40th bday next year in the upstairs. Sucks so, so bad :(”

Thanks to Charles for the update from the Columbia Heights Taco Bell:
“I went in a month or two ago and noticed they didn’t have liquor behind the counter, beer in the store, and the digital checkout and app didn’t show alcohol. I mentioned it when picking up my food and the employee gave an exasperated “yeeeeah,” which suggests selling alcohol came with issues and they stopped doing it. I have been in a few times since and they haven’t had it.”
