“Mayor Muriel Bowser, Chairman Phil Mendelson and Members of the Council of the District of Columbia, and Chief Executive Officer of Monumental Sports & Entertainment Ted Leonsis announced that they have reached a deal to transform and expand the Capital One Arena into a state-of-the-art urban arena that will be the home of the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals through 2050. “We wanted to thank you all for supporting our big move from Baltimore to D.C. dating back to the original planned opening date in 2020, and again when it finally happened in 2022. All of our efforts were full heartedly put into this project and it is with great sorrow to announce that our doors have officially closed in Chinatown.

On behalf of our wonderful Howl D.C. staff, we will truly miss the family and Wolfpack we have built within the community here. (more…)
