“The Results Gym on Capitol Hill closed at midnight today. Worst day ever.”

Another reader emails:

“The end of an era. I am so saddened that Results is closing, any leads on new management?”

From Results:

During the past six months, Results Gym has faced growing economic challenges to its continued operations including extreme pressures arising out of the uneconomic lease for its space on G Street. While management has worked diligently to address those challenges, it was unable to obtain terms from its landlord that would permit it to continue operating and the landlord has proceeded with eviction.

In light of this, we regret to inform you that Results Gym will discontinue operations effective March 15, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. At present, we do not know how Results Gym’s remaining assets will be allocated between its secured and unsecured creditors. As that process plays out, we hope to provide you with additional information.

Capitol Hill Corner reports:

“A post-midnight trip to Results revealed that a sign had been posted by “a neighbor” that the gym would re-open on Thursday under new management. That claim has not yet been confirmed.”

Stay tuned…

Fingers crossed that Bagels & Baguettes finds a new location soon. A neighbor on the scene collecting signatures of support said that it’s possible they could move back to this location after the renovation but it would be at least a year away. Stand by for updates if they return here at some point or find a new location.

Update: “The bad news they are closing this Monday, the 29th.”

“Dear PoPville,

I caught wind today that one of our beloved neighborhood bagel shops, Bagels and Baguettes, will be closing quite abruptly in about a months time. It sounds like the landlord will not be renewing the lease, thus forcing them out.

Bagels and Baguettes of District Of Columbia, DC has been part of the Capitol Hill neighborhood since 1996. We specialize in variety of authentically made bagels (kettle boiled) as well as pastries, baguette sandwiches, and salads that are all prepared on site. We also serve premium coffee, espresso drinks and smoothies.

I was wondering if anyone has heard any additional information. I also wanted to raise awareness because I believe it’s a gem in our community, and I’m sure others feel the same.

I know that they are working quickly to try and find a new location around the same area so, if anyone has any leads or connections, I would encourage you to reach out.”
