17 Year Old Shot and Killed 5:30pm Saturday at Florida and North Cap, NE. Juvenile Shot 5:20pm Sunday in Brightwood

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, January 9, 2021, in the Unit block of Florida Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 5:28 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim, inside of an establishment, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 17 year-old Omari Dunn, of Northwest, DC. (more…)

It was lost somewhere on 1st street NW between big bear cafe and children’s National hospital when I was walking my dog. Would love to get it back! It was a gift when I was born from my grandpa.”

Last night someone ditched a large box of tools, small blue cooler, and a hand vacuum on the sidewalk in front of my house in Lamond-Riggs/Takoma. “Just heard there was a shooting near Flagler Market in Bloomingdale on the corner of Flagler and W. It sounded like 10+ shots were fired in rapid succession. Right now we’re hearing that a person was shot in the leg.” (more…)

Summit to Soul’s Window smashed with brick on Barracks Row, Car Windows smashed in Bloomingdale

“As you can see from the photo, a large piece of brick was thrown through our window in the middle of the night. We are fortunate this happened at a time when no one was in the shop; we are all safe and repairs are underway. However, incidents like this make being a small business so difficult – especially in 2020. We will pick up the pieces and carry on, just like we’ve navigated the rest of 2020. But what a rough way to start the holiday season.”
