“Dear PoPville,

Ok, I get it that I have choices where to shop but CVS is kinda the only game in town for pharmacy. Here is what happened to me on Monday.
Went mid morning to the CVS in Takoma Park, my prescription wasn’t ready (ok, forgive me for the rush) but decided to get deodorants.

Called for an attendant, waited for a while until a salesperson came to tell me that someone from the previous shift had taken the key and they couldn’t open the case. Wait, what?

So I went to the CVS in Georgia & Van Buren. Standing in front of the deodorant case … for a longer while until the sales person came back with the SAME story. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Hoping for a holiday miracle with this one. My fiancé’s wedding tuxedo was lost/stolen at Union Station last night (Wednesday.) Our wedding is Friday. He came out of Gate A of Union Station around 7:50pm on Wednesday night, was rolling multiple suitcases. As he was exiting, his blue Proper Cloth garment bag containing his wedding tuxedo fell off the suitcase and on to the floor. Less than two minutes later, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I realize this is a long shot but I’m so sad and desperate for any help. I was out at Red Derby Friday night and Saturday morning realized I didn’t have my ring with me. It’s a gold ring with garnets on it. It belonged to my grandma who passed away in September and I am heartbroken about losing it. I walked from Red Derby to Otis Place via Spring Road.”

If by miracle someone found it please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP!

“I’m over by southwest this morning and there were what sounded like rhythmic explosions happening. I thought it was thunder at first, but then realized it was like every four seconds. Went on for about 10-15 minutes. Any idea what that’s about??”

Sounds like too much for cannon practice. Maybe construction related? Anyone know what’s up?

Update: “Dear PoPville,

My wife and I ate at El Presidente tonight (fantastic) and parked in the Batley/La Cosecha garage (1270 4th St NE), which I believe is the garage referenced. It still offers three hours of free parking.

We entered at 7:35 p.m. and left at 8:41 p.m., and were not charged when we scanned our ticket on exit.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Around 2pm Wed., Nov 26, I was finishing lunch at the Farragut West LebTav when I heard shots and saw people running. The other customers and staff dropped to the ground and crawled behind the cashier counter. I found a small closet to hide in, but soon realized it may not be the best place to hide since I couldn’t lock the door. Outside, I heard the staff leading customers further back into the kitchen. I exited the closet and followed. LebTav staff led us to a back stairwell where we discussed whether to leave through a back exit or go upstairs to hide. We waited in the stairwell for a few minutes, with children and adults crying and hyperventilating from fear and shock amid the uncertainty of what was happening and whether we were even safe.

The LebTav staff acted as a kind of buffer between what was happening across the street and our hide out. Eventually, (more…)
