Alert: dog kicker in Adams Morgan. This happened to my dog today (Friday) and two other people have messaged saying it’s happened to them on the last two years in the area. We are not sure if it’s the same guy or just lots of shitty people. Also if you could do a shoutout to the store where the guy who came to help me works… I’d really appreciate it. About half dozens guys either passed or just stood there as this guy screamed and poked at me after kicking my dog. The guy from the shop sprinted across the street and stood in between us. Chase Bank in Cleveland Park has a sign on the front door indicating restricted hours for access to the ATM vestibule – mostly to coincide with bank hours. They are closed Sunday and at night. The vestibule is separated from the rest of the bank by a metal grate. (more…)

I am listing my DC property for sale at the end of August. I am wondering how DC area realtors have generally responded to the recent ruling involving the National Association of Realtors and commission structures. I think something goes into effect on 8/17 so maybe things haven’t really changed yet but I’m wondering if anyone has seen anything noteworthy in conjunction with the ruling. “

I wanted to flag a weird situation that unfolded on my doorstep last night (Monday) and see if anyone else has had this happen. A little past 9pm a man came to our door and rang the doorbell a couple of times (which seemed kind of aggressive, especially considering we have one of those signs on our door asking people not to ring the bell bc of the sleeping baby). When we answered the door the man claimed to be from DC Air Quality Control and said that he was following up on a request made about our address. He seemed to be hinting that someone had lodged a complaint that we were responsible for. He quickly flashed a badge but it was dark and he never identified himself by name.

Nothing about this seemed legit so we asked him to leave and told him (more…)
