“Dear PoPville,

This morning (Friday) when I went to my car, all of the windshield wipers were placed up– both the front and back windshield. I am parked well (at the end of the street, backed as far as I can) and have only been parked in this spot since Wednesday. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Our neighbors have a large mulberry tree that extends into our back patio. Every year around this time, the mulberries fall but we usually just wait out the 3-4 weeks and regularly sweep them into the back garden, then we’re mulberry free by mid June. However, this year when we came back from our Memorial Day travels, we noticed that all the berries that have fallen and have been swept into the garden are starting to mold (I suppose the way any unrefrigerated/old fruit would?) 20th and L Street, NW

“Dear PoPville,

Do you have any idea what motivated DC to install what appear to be permanent pylons on L Street NW at 20th, effectively making L Street one lane at that point, then reopening to two lanes once through the intersection? There was already a left-turn lane there. Takes many drivers by surprise and can’t think of a single rationale for doing it.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Have you heard anything about when DC apartments can start increasing rent again? I know there was a rent freeze during the pandemic but I’m just wondering if you’ve heard when that may be lifted. My apartment is already emailing me about rent increases but I haven’t heard or seen anything from DC about the freeze stopping. Thanks!!”

“Dear PoPville,

I am looking for Juneteenth volunteer opps in the DC area. My company is encouraging us to spend Friday, 6/18 volunteering and I’d like to organize something for a group of about 3-5. Appreciate any ideas!”

A slice of deliciousness from Duccini’s that I had the other night

Been getting lots of requests for best pizza recs, from jumbo slice to the fancy stuff, and these are requests I simply can’t refuse. Besides Duccini’s I also love Wiseguy, All Purpose, Two Amys and of course Vace. Your loves: (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Going for a long shot. I was walking my tiny pup with a friend on Tuesday night (5/18) around 10pm on the corner of 14th and T NW when we stopped to pet a cute pup named Otto, who happened to have a cute guy for a human. Otto was having some trouble staying focused on his walk, and his human laughed and thanked us for petting his dog, which was pretty adorable. I was the tall blonde girl probably creepily focused on your dog.

Anyway, any chance you’re single and want to walk our dogs together? My dog’s terrible at walking too it might just work…”

“Dear PoPville

I cleaned out my closet this weekend and found so many clothes I no longer want, many of which still have the tags on them (I know, I know…). Everything is either brand new or in great condition. All women’s clothes, mostly dresses and casual attire. Can anyone recommend a great donation place in NW DC where these clothes can find a good home? Thanks!”
