Since the pandemic started, I’ve gone on a walk every day before beginning the work day around my apartment in Adams Morgan.
Just now (around 9am), I was about a block away from my apartment next to the Starbucks at the corner of Calvert and Columbia when I was randomly approached by a man in a ski mask. I thought nothing of it, but before I could respond, the man grabbed an AirPod from my left ear and darted over to the plaza directly across the street. (more…)

I definitely had a missed connection here and I think she feels this too. I was standing with my bike at the DuPont Circle Fountain right next to the Algerian flags at the start of the DC Bike Party on 11/6. She wore beige glasses and a black down vest and I was wearing a blue down vest with a burgundy shirt and gray joggers. (more…)

As my family and I left a youth soccer match at Raymond Rec Center on Sat. morning, I spotted Ward 4 Board of Education Member Frazier O’Leary’s Benz blocking a fire hydrant at the intersection of Quebec Pl and 10th St NW. The hazards were not on, and nothing suggested the driver’s return was imminent. (more…)

A neighbor has been very vocal about not wanting dogs to pee in his fenced in yard. He put copper barriers up around his fence and if a dog pees on the sidewalk outside of his townhouse he has been known to come outside yelling at pet owners. It’s ridiculous. (more…)

I was at the Pigeons Playing Ping Pong show last Friday (10/29) at the Anthem dancing my face off, in my element, throwing my hair around, jumping, singing, and just generally grooving to the funk. There happened to be an objectively attractive concertgoer near me in “the flock” (i.e., the Pigeons fanbase) exuding extreme confidence in a colorful cowboy hat, pink sunglasses, and assless chaps (it was Halloween after all). To my surprise, she approached me after the show to compliment my curly, untamed hair and ask my hair product of choice. Caught entirely off guard, I returned the compliment remarking on her sunglasses and we chatted for a bit – her name was Emily. With her friends and mine departing, we split ways and still a bit bewildered, I forgot to exchange numbers in what was clearly a moment. Find me Emily!
