“Dear PoPville,

I was in Joy’s Nail Spa on 18th street the other day and she told me that she’s closing in a week. I’m bummed, and was hoping you could show her some love. She deserves a vacation and hopefully with a bunch of support over the next week, she can take a good long one. Seems like she’s closing early next week.”

Update: Help relocate and return to Joy’s Spa GoFundMe:

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve been a DC resident for about six years. Preparing to sign my lease for my next apartment building, and came across an unexpected provision in the contract. Regarding parking (the building has a garage):

“Residents and/or Occupants are prohibited from participating in the Residential Parking Permit (“RPP”) Program through the District of Columbia, including, but not limited to, applying for or obtaining an RPP. Over the past few years I’ve asked my neighbors what those painted arrows on Kalmia mean, and I’ve gotten a variety of answers. how do you interpret them? (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’d be interested in whatever info PoPville has about community bulletin boards or places to put informational flyers around town (preferably sheltered from the weather). I think I have passed some outdoors in Adams Morgan, and I know public libraries and supermarkets are good places, but I feel like I’m forgetting others.”

“Dear PoPville,

I have a question for the PoPville community. My dad just retired as a doctor and was going to toss the chair he used for 30+ years, but I thought it was a great little chair, so I snagged it. It needs some TLC (tender loving care) though so it can last another 30+ years. Does the community have a recommendation for a chair repair/potential reupholster shop??
