Fundraiser: “Help Josh “Pookie” Quijada after his stroke!” also looking for Two Good Samaritans

Josh “Pookie” Quijada via GoFundMe

“Dear PoPville,

My boyfriend, Josh “Pookie” Quijada, had a stroke last Monday. He’s a healthy 34-year-old and doctors are still trying to figure out what happened, but he’s very lucky to be alive.

Josh was the first bartender hired at Lyman’s 8 years ago and I was hoping to share his fundraiser. He will need a lot of time to recover and he’s facing a lot of medical bills.

Josh is well known around DC – on our first date, three separate people walked up to me and told me what a good guy he was and that has proven to be completely true. I was with him when he had his stroke, three days after our first anniversary.

Additionally, I was hoping to find a way to thank two women who stayed with me and flagged down the ambulance when I was on the phone with 911 and desperately trying to keep him awake. I don’t know who they were, but I am so grateful to them. His stroke happened around 3pm on August 1, close to logan circle.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
