I am reaching out to see if you would be able to help me find a mom I met at Children’s National’s Emergency Department last weekend (12/3, around 5pm.) I came in to the ED with my 17m old, who was very very sick- she had lost the ability to use her left arm and leg, and we weren’t sure why. This mom was there with her daughter who had a hurt arm, and she literally became my daughter’s guardian angel that day. (more…)

For many many years I got my hair cut at the Hair Cuttery at Dupont by a guy named Ray. My hair ain’t easy to cut and he did it perfectly. Then during COVID the Hair Cuttery closed down and I didn’t know how to find Ray. I didn’t even know his last name. So, I had to find someone else. I struggled to find somebody who could give me a decent haircut. I did find someone at Sports Clips in Columbia Heights. One day I walked in there and to my amazement there was Ray! (more…)

I have a very energetic and social 10 month old Dog who would spend all of his time at the dog park if he could. Since daylight saving time, it is already dark by the time we are able to go to the dog park in the evenings (around 6 pm), and by then our local dog park is generally empty. (more…)

Today (Saturday) I was driving on route 50 into dc when this older man in a beat up white suv signaled at my tire indicating something was wrong. I pulled over on South Dakota near the Costco to check it out and he also got out of his car and attempted to inspect my tire. He didn’t realize my dad was in the car behind me (more…)

Update/reminder from WMATA:
“Due to the U.S. – Africa Leaders Summit, a National Special Security Event (NSSE), Metro’s Mt Vernon Sq Station will be closed at the request of U.S. Secret Service over four days beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12 through the close of service on Thursday, Dec. 15.
The station closure is necessary due to its location within the security perimeter. Green Line trains will pass through Mt Vernon Sq Station without stopping, with normal service to all other stations. Rail service to the station is expected to resume with the start of service on Friday, December 16..
Due to vehicle restrictions within the security perimeter that spans a large area around the Washington Convention Center, shuttle buses to/from Mt Vernon Sq will not be provided. Customers are encouraged to use the Gallery Place-Chinatown or Shaw-Howard U stations, or in some cases Metrobus may be an alternative.”
