“One day I walked in there and to my amazement there was Ray!” Anyone know where he is now?

3307 14th Street, NW

“Dear PoPville,

For many many years I got my hair cut at the Hair Cuttery at Dupont by a guy named Ray. My hair ain’t easy to cut and he did it perfectly. Then during COVID the Hair Cuttery closed down and I didn’t know how to find Ray. I didn’t even know his last name. So, I had to find someone else. I struggled to find somebody who could give me a decent haircut. I did find someone at Sports Clips in Columbia Heights. One day I walked in there and to my amazement there was Ray!

He told me that he retired during COVID, but still gave hair cuts to some regulars who got in touch with him. He said that he was bored in retirement and decided to go back to work. I was thrilled! Now Sports Clips in Columbia Heights has closed down and I need a haircut! Once again, I never did get Ray’s contact info and I still don’t even know his last name. Is there anyone out there who could put me in touch?”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
