“Dear PoPville,
Today (Saturday) I was driving on route 50 into dc when this older man in a beat up white suv signaled at my tire indicating something was wrong. I pulled over on South Dakota near the Costco to check it out and he also got out of his car and attempted to inspect my tire. He didn’t realize my dad was in the car behind me
and seemed to back track when he saw I wasn’t alone and less likely to be taken advantage of. We were skeptical and said we would have our mechanic check it out. He eventually left but I got a weird feeling so I googled it and alas found tons of PoPville articles about similar scams in the same area. Watch out for him!”
