“Dear PoPville,

I’m writing about a challenge the Capitol Hill community is facing. This summer the Southeast Branch of the DC Library system will be closing for 2+ years for renovations.

At this time, DCPL hasn’t announced the availability of any interim services for our community. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I have a bit of an odd request I’m hoping someone might be able to help with. During a move last year, my late grandmother’s marbletop coffee table was broken. I’m hoping to have the marble pieces carved into coasters that I can give to all of my Nonny’s children and grandchildren.

I’ve tried everything I can think of (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve seen a few of these knocked over before, but never snapped in half like a pencil. In case you ever wondered what the inside of a DC street lamp looked like, now you know. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’m in desperate need of help and/or advice. This weekend my wedding dress got stolen out of my car. It was not parked on the street, it was in the parking lot of the building where I live on 14th Street and Randolph. From the The St. Patrick’s Parade Committee:

“We look forward to gathering and celebrating with all of you on March 12th! (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve been stymied as I try to figure out what this is – a very carefully-constructed big window display for the “Green Paint Shop” close to City Lights, around 1735 Connecticut. Internet searches turn up nothing, except for one Reddit conversation saying it had been covered in PoPville. Somebody clearly put a lot of work into this, and all I know for sure is that it’s not a paint shop. The display includes MANY cans, each with a different label. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

On Thursday, February 23rd at 5:59-6:00pm (It was the unusually warm 80 degree February day) I was biking north on 14th St NW in the bike lane between S and T streets NW (right in front of Gypsy Kitchen) when I approached a rideshare driver who was idling illegally in the bike lane, blocking it entirely and forcing me over between the bike lane and parked vehicles. A passenger of that ride share then ‘doored’ me (flung his door open without looking and hit me) as I was going by. (more…)
