“Dear PoPville,
Not sure how to actually get attention of city officials, but a majority of the fountains are not operational a mere six weeks after opening the brand new splash pad. All those silver and black discs are supposed to be shooting water out. Only two appear to be functional. Two more seem to be barely working.”

“Due to the current temperatures and forecast of extreme heat, Mayor Muriel Bowser has activated the District’s Heat Emergency Plan for Monday, July 12 through Wednesday, July 14, 2021. When the forecast of the temperature or heat index in the District is 95 degrees or higher, District Government, through the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA), implements the Heat Emergency Plan and activates cooling centers for residents to seek relief from the heat.

“The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for The central District of Columbia is in effect until 9:30 PM.
Hazard: Tornado
Source: Radar indicated rotation.
Impact: For those in the direct path of a tornado touchdown, flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Damage to roofs, siding, and windows may occur. Mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed. Tree damage is likely.
This dangerous storm will be near Crystal City around 905 PM EDT.
Nationals Park, Reagan National Airport, Gallaudet University, Anacostia and US Capitol around 910 PM EDT.
RFK Stadium, Oxon Hill and Kenilworth around 9:15 PM EDT.
Coral Hills, Camp Springs, Walker Mill, Temple Hills, Marlow Heights, Seat Pleasant and Carmody Hills-Pepper Mill Village around 920 PM EDT.”
