Following last week’s news of the upcoming CVS closure in Penn Quarter comes news from U Street. Thanks to all who sent word CVS: “the CVS Pharmacy on 1000 U STREET NW, WA will be closing the pharm dept on 10/30. You can fill your Rxs at 1900 7 St NW or any other CVS Pharmacy”

While the note only mentions the pharmacy other readers sent word that the whole store was closing. This weekend I noticed a bunch of moving materials out front: (more…)

I just found out the CVS at 435 8th St NW is closing 10/26. This CVS and their AMAZING pharmacist Denise have been serving our neighborhood for 26 years. I want to do everything I can to have them stay open. Can you please help? Do you have any ideas on how I can do this?”

“A new retail outpost of Cork Wine Bar & Market will open in partnership with Pizzeria Paradiso on Wednesday, October 13 in Washington D.C.’s Spring Valley neighborhood. Cork Spring Valley will offer its trademark collection of Old-World wines by the bottle in addition to grocery and to-go market items from local woman and minority-owned food businesses.
