Word on the street that Vinery had to back out due to the chaos around the construction site. The developer ran out of money. It has been purchased by two separate entities so hopefully will finish up eventually and make way for retail to move in. (more…)

“Hardware & Blue’s Coffee coming to The Parks at Walter Reed

A combo hardware and coffee shop, with offices above, will be taking over the historic 18,000 SF former nurse’s quarters in Building 12, the building right on Main Drive across from the playground. News of the purchase was announced earlier this fall. Building 12 will be revitalized and transformed into a True Value-branded hardware store that pays homage to its heritage, paired with Blue’s Coffee & Tea Co., a Washington, DC-based Black family-owned coffee and tea cafe. Blue’s Coffee has previously sold their coffee at the farmers market at The Parks. (more…)
