Thanks to a reader for sending the photo above from the Chevy Chase Pavilion in Friendship Heights (5335 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.) Washingtonian reports:

The original Frederick location of the sandwich shop boasts a menu that’s both moderately priced and family-friendly—think a $4.50 grilled cheese sandwich and fruit cups alongside more grown-up options like a wedge salad with barbecue chicharrones and a slow-cooked pork shoulder sandwich with pickled cabbage and cilantro.

You can see their full menu here. Chef Voltaggio opened RANGE in the Chevy Chase Pavilion back in Dec. 2012.

1843 7th Street, NW

A couple of weeks ago we learned about Mockingbird Hill coming to Shaw from Derek Brown. At that time I wasn’t sure exactly where in the new construction on 7th Street it would be located. Now they’ve applied for a liquor license at 1843 7th Street, NW. It says:

“A bar focusing on Spanish sherry wine and Spanish & American hams. Other bar snacks will be served. Total number of seats is 53.”

Stay tuned for an anticipated May opening.

Congrats to Irish Whiskey on their 1 year anniversary. To celebrate they’ve launched:

DOLLAR-BOTTLE BUBBLY BRUNCH KICKOFF
Dollar-Bottle Bubbly Brunch is just what it states: $1.00 for a full bottle of champagne every

From GQ’s list:

“I don’t enjoy lining up for ninety minutes, required to get a table on a Saturday night.

Little Serow is transformational. The preparations are exquisitely focused. The spicing ascends and then descends, as harmoniously as musical scales. This was my finest eating experience of 2012.”

Congrats to Little Serow! Now we’ll be lucky if we only have a 90 minute wait :)
