Uh oh or hallelujah depending on your perspective… Thanks to all who sent emails. From the Wall Street Journal:

“Baltimore-based Barrack’s Row Entertainment filed for Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Washington D.C., putting eating spots like Hawk ‘n’ Dove, Senart’s Oyster House and The Chesapeake Room into protection with it. Barrack’s Row, which is owned by a group of investors, said it has between $1 million and $10 million in debt.”

The new Hawk n Dove opened in Jan. 2013. Senart’s Oyster House opened at 520 8th St SE on Barracks Row in 2011 and The Chesapeake Room opened at 501 8th Street, SE also on Barracks Row back in 2010. I believe this group also owns Lola’s, Molly Malone’s Pacifico, and The Box Car Tavern.

Their facebook page says:

“We feed people. We’re a full service restaurant and cafe. Mornings offer up Hawthorne Fine Breakfast Pastry and Vigilante Coffee. DELISH! Lunch, come in for a panini, salad or great house made soups. Happy Hour on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-7. Dinnertime – Belgian beers, nice wine selection and hearty yummy meals. Thats what we do. When you think you’re done, check out the dessert case. House made chocolates, mousse cakes and an array of pastries make it hard to stop at just dinner. Dessert is a must.”

And finally – Capitol Hill Sporting – is having a liquidation sale and going out of business. Back in 2010 there were plans to convert this space into a bar and grill.

Barcelona opened up on 14th Street in Oct. 2013 with their sweet sweet patio in Logan Circle. Their website says:

“At the heart of Logan Circle, along 14th Street, is the busiest arts and dining scene in the nation’s capital. Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant, at the heart of it all, between Q and R streets, brings a mix of old and new-world elegance to the rowhouses and Victorians that line this historic neighborhood. Start the evening with a glass of wine at the bar or enjoy tapas in our open dining space or beautiful private room. For those who enjoy dining under the setting sun or a canopy of stars, our expansive and lush courtyard has an outdoor fireplace and offers a glimpse of 14th Street’s vibrant street traffic.”

You can see their Menus here. Any fans? Any must order items?

A couple of weeks ago we learned Shophouse was hiring for their Chinatown location in part of the former Ruby Tuesday space. They’ve also now applied for a liquor license that reveals they’ll have an occupancy of 48 and hours will be Sunday through Saturday 11am-10pm. Here’s a peek in the window:
