This is the former home of The Spice & Tea Exchange. Bandoola Bowl’s Facebook page says:
“Southeast Asian salads, coming to Georgetown in fall 2018”
CityPaper reported that it comes from the owners of Mandalay Restaurant & Cafe in Silver Spring.
“Here at the Mandalay Café you will find dishes from all over the land of Myanmar (Burma). Burma occupies the territory in between India and China in Southeast Asia, and you may notice similarities between Burmese food and that of neighboring countries. You will also notice that Burmese cooking retains a unique identity all its own.

Back in early May we shared some scuttlebutt about Dangerously Delicious Pies expansion plans. CONFIRMED! From a liquor license placard:
“Applicant requests an expansion to increase the Total Occupancy Load of the establishment from 32 to 155. The first floor of the establishment will have 30 seats, and the second floor will have 57 seats. Summer Garden seating will increase from 20 to 45.”
Stay tuned for more details including the “killer roof deck” as construction progresses.

“District Distilling, located at 1414-1418 U Street, NW, 20009, will temporarily suspend restaurant operations on July 4 so management can shift their focus to the production and distribution of its award-winning line of spirits.
