Ed. Note: This is the spot with the dope indoor moss garden we looked at last week. I got to see it in person and it is incredibly cool. And of equal import – the food was delicious too. This is gonna be another very popular spot.

Opening today – Friday, February 7th – at 5pm for dinner service, Tonari will serve as the first restaurant in Washington D.C. to showcase Japanese-style or ‘Wafu’ pasta and pizza located directly next to their flagship restaurant Daikaya in Chinatown. 18th and S Street, NW

Back in October we shared the scuttlebutt (aka “the rumors”) that Northern Virginia’s beloved Pupatella would be taking over the then recently closed Rosemarys Thyme Space on 18th Street. Today news reports confirm the scuttlebutt. Washingtonian reports: “Owner and Naples native Enzo Algarme says his team is angling for a spring opening.”

“Good news! MGM Roast Beef is set to re-open on Friday February 7th 2020.

In July 2019 an electrical fire in the kitchen caused the 10 year old Northeast DC institution to shut down.

During the down time, Ryan Zaritsky worked on some new menu items to add to the popular line up of hand-carved roast turkey, top round and MGM’s famous brisket offerings.
