“The iconic Howard Deli, located on Georgia Avenue NW, sadly had to close its doors after 40 years of serving the community. Owner Kent “Kenny” Gilmore has suffered several strokes and can no longer continue maintaining the deli. Additionally, COVID significantly impacted sales at the deli since his beloved Howard University and Benjamin Banneker High School Faculty and Students were not physically present to create foot traffic into the deli.
