Any idea what happened here at Pan Am Market? At the corner of Brown and Newton in Mt Pleasant the corner store seemed to be abandoned for a few months but now looks completely empty. There’s also a vacant sign. (more…)

“Dauphine’s, the New Orleans-inspired restaurant from chef Kristen Essig and the Long Shot Hospitality team, will begin serving weekday lunch on Tuesday, September 27. The opening lunch menu will include both a la carte offerings as well as a “Midtown Lunch” menu with options of two courses for $32 or three courses for $40.

Uptown Market just announced their closing. A loss for the neighborhood (they have a nice outdoor dining area), but not completely surprising. The restaurant/gourmet market combo didn’t work for Soapstone Market, and that was pre-pandemic.” (more…)
