Silver Diner opening first Diner in DC in Navy Yard on Wednesday, Oct. 5

Note: “While the company operates a restaurant in Northwest, Washington-Silver, American Brasserie, it has never had a Silver Diner in D.C. The 8,000 square foot, two-story space is located at Half and N streets, Southeast. It is located next to Nationals Park.”

The official word from Silver Diner:

“Silver Diner will officially open its 21st restaurant and first in Washington, D.C. The location will officially open to the public on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The restaurant has won numerous awards for its healthy menu items, in addition to its traditional diner classics. The menu includes vegan, plant-based, gluten-free and low- calorie items. It has also been recognized for having one of the healthiest kids menus in the country.

Silver Diner local co-owner and Executive Chef Ype Von Hengst works with local farms to source fresh ingredients. Von Hengst is also known for his win on “Chopped,” and other network food programs.”
