A reader reports:

“Not sure if anyone has reported this yet but there were 5-6 gunshots in the first block (0-100) of Q street NE last night just after 11 pm. Right after the shots you could hear tires screeching. A lot of neighbors came out and at least 3 cop cars and cops on bicycles were on the street within a few minutes talking to neighbors. Luckily it seemed like no one was injured.”

Per earlier shots fired posts, we’re not getting many official reports recently so if you happen to hear them please email [email protected] or contact us @PoPville so we can keep a record. Thanks.

“10 gunshots at 6th and O NW”

Update from MPD:

“There was no shooting. There was an assault in the alley where 4 individuals assaulted a victim, with one striking him with a firearm. According to witnesses a 5th individual took the firearm and discharged 1 round into the ground to disperse the crowd. We were able to locate one suspect who was positively identified as one of the assailants and placed under arrest, but the weapon was not recovered.”

Will first reported around 10pm: “Something happened at 14/U in alley between City First Bank and Goodwood. Large police/EMS presence. Chopper overhead.” (more…)

But seriously, this sounds bonkers all around.

Brendan reports:

“At around 1pm today, the manager of the Chopt in Union Station assaulted a customer upset that he’d been waiting half an hour for a salad he’d called ahead for that they were late to make. The Manager tried to take his phone, made a mess, and wrestled w/the Customer. The customer was allowed to leave after police were called. The Manager was taken away in Handcuffs.

It was insane. All the guy did was get upset that his salad was late, and say he was gonna write a bad review. Both of which he’s entitled to do. The Manager went nuts on him.”

Update from Ward 4 Council Member Brandon Todd: “According to MPD this is an apparent suicide not homicide.”

A reader reported a shooting homicide in the 1300 block of Randolph Street, NW just before 1am last night.

600 block of E Street, NE

A reader reports:

“Just before 3:30 am yesterday (Sunday) an incident near 6th and E NE drew a substantial police response. I believe 7 or 8 shots were fired in quick succession. Photo of the scene from 3:33 am. I saw no ambulance, so I assume no casualties. It did appear that a man was in custody.”

MPD responds to me via email: “nothing in our system that indicates there were shots fired”. Did anyone else hear shots fired?
