“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District Detective Unit and Narcotics and Special Investigations Division have announced that multiple arrests have been made in the robberies which occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2015, and Monday, April 13, 2015, in the 1100 block of 4th Street, Southwest, where multiple subjects entered the drug store [CVS] and stole a controlled substance.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, members of the Metropolitan Police Department executed a search warrant which resulted in the arrests of 19 year old Bertwone Copeland, 20 year old Bartholomew Copeland and 38 year old Keith Boykins who were charged with Robbery and Possession With Intent to Distribute while Armed. Also arrested were 24 year old Leroy Frye, 18 year old Cornelius Jones, 18 year old Arnay Chase, 22 year old Archie Coles, 18 year old Johnny Coles, and a juvenile male, who were all, charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute while Armed. The investigation resulted in the recovery of three semi-automatic handguns and narcotics.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted in this investigation.”

“Don’t know what’s going on but wanted to give you the heads up of huge police presence on Quincy St between 13th and 14th. At one point I counted 12 police cars. Never heard sirens, though.”

“On April 16, 2015, at approximately 11:46 PM, Fourth District Officers were flagged down in reference to an armed robbery (knife displayed) that had just occurred in the west alley of the 3900 block of 13th Street, NW. Pursuant to eyewitness information, four suspects were stopped by police officers in the 1300 block of Randolph Street, NW. The two victims of this offense were robbed of their cellphones and wallets.

As a result of the police investigation, three juvenile males and one adult male were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Knife). During the investigation, the respondents/ defendants were found to be in possession of the victim’s cellphone’s and wallets.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an additional arrest has been made in connection to the stabbing death of 30 year-old David Messerschmitt, who was found on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, shortly after 11:00 am, in the 1100 block of 14th Street, Northwest.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at approximately 7:45 am 19 year-old Dominique Johnson was arrested pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court Arrest Warrant and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.”

“On March 30, 2015, at approximately 2:30am, Mr. Antonio Ayala was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He later succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch conducted an investigation and was able to identify the suspect.

On April 7, 2015, the suspect, 23 year old Mr. Herman Odom of Washington, DC, was placed under arrest and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.”

From WMATA on Monday:

“Metro Transit Police detectives today arrested Melissa Langley, 20, of Southeast Washington, DC, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon (knife) in connection with a March 15 incident at Stadium-Armory in which a Metro station manager was stabbed.

On March 15 at approximately 11:45 a.m., MTPD and medics responded to Stadium-Armory for a report of a station manager who had been stabbed by a female patron following a fare dispute. The station manager was transported to a local hospital and survived his injuries.

Langley was arrested without incident at her residence this afternoon.”

“There has been an uptick in burglaries in the Brookland neighborhood. On April 1, 2015 two subjects broke into a home in the 1400 block of Hamlin Street NE. An alert neighbor observed this and called the police. Units converged quickly on the location and the two subjects were caught. Many thanks to the neighbor who called MPD. It is my experience that one or two bad guys are usually responsible for several burglaries. I hope that we will see some decreases as a result of these arrest.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the stabbing death of 30 year-old David Messerschmitt, who was found on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, shortly after 11:00 am, in the 1100 block of 14th Street, Northwest.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at approximately 3:30 pm, members of the homicide branch arrested 21 year-old Jamyra Gallmon of Southeast, charging her with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in connection to the homicide of David Messerschmitt.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit have announced a suspect has been arrested in an assault that occurred in the 3600 block 16th Street, Northwest. On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at approximately 3:26 am, an adult female victim reported that she was in the 3600 block of 16th Street, Northwest when an adult Hispanic male assaulted her with the intent to commit a sexual offense.

A short time later, at approximately 4:39 am on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, a male subject was positively identified and arrested. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Alemen Gonzalo of Northwest, DC has been charged with Assault with the Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse.”

“On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at approximately 7:00 pm, in the 1800 block of Bladensburg, Road, Northeast, members from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District Detectives Unit announced the arrest of two juvenile males in connection with a series of robberies which occurred along the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Northeast, Washington, DC.

Robberies occurred at the following locations on Sunday, March 22, 2015:

· 700 block of Edgewood Street Northeast at approximately 11:00 am

· 500 block of V Street Northeast at approximately 4:25 pm

· 600 block Rhode Island Avenue Northeast at approximately 6:50 pm

· 8th and Edgewood Streets Northeast at approximately 7:17 pm

Additionally, the two juvenile suspects were charged with a fifth robbery which occurred on Monday, March 23, 2015, at approximately 6:30 pm in the 700 block of Edgewood Street, Northeast.

In all five offenses, a knife was displayed during the commission of these robberies.”

“Multiple arrests were made today for the 7th street robberies.

Additionally, the suspect responsible for the 10th St robberies was also arrested this evening.

He will also be charged with multiple robberies that occurred in the Fifth Police District.”

“On Sunday, March 15, 2015, at approximately 3:45 pm, members of the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 44-year-old Daniel Rosen of Northwest, DC, pursuant to a DC Superior Court Arrest Warrant, charging him with Voyeurism and Stalking.

Rosen’s arrest stems from a February case investigated by the Fairfax County Police Department. That investigation led authorities to obtain a search warrant for Rosen’s cell phone, which contained multiple video files that depicted acts voyeurism. The investigation of those videos revealed that they occurred in the District of Columbia. Members of MPD’s Youth Investigations Division determined that the device included images of multiple victims who appear to be females over the age of 18. The incidents occurred in the Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant and U Street neighborhoods.”
