“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide that occurred on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at approximately 1:33 am, in which 20-year-old Christopher Adams of Northwest, Washington, DC was shot at the intersection of 8th and Jefferson Streets, Northwest.

On Friday, March 13, 2015, at approximately 2:30 pm, 24-year old Glenn Rashaun Walker of Northwest, Washington, DC was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Murder while Armed in connection to the death of Christopher Adams.”

“On March 11, 2015, at approx. 230pm members of your 3D VICE Unit responded to an address in the 1400 block of Girard Street NW regarding the service of a Civil Protection Order.

While on scene, it was determined the male resident was illegally in possession of an unregistered AK-47 7.62x39mm Assault Rifle and associated rifle ammunition.

The adult male resident was arrested and charged with “Poss. of an Unregistered Firearm”, Poss. of Unregistered Ammunition” and “Poss. of High Capacity Magazines”.”

Dear PoPville – Line Cutter Busted on Beach Drive, Props to that Cop!

“Dear PoPville,

We all probably know the typical line cutters that think they’re smarter than the rest of us that wait patiently in line to take Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park, specially during rush hours. Every other day there is one cop (Park Police, I assume) that sits right at the split and sends every line cutter back to the Rock Creek Park Parkway. Today was one of those days, and I was able to capture the moment. I always thank the cop as I drive by and he gives me a thumbs up.”

Arrest Made in May 2014 Shooting Homicide on North Capitol

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a 2014 homicide. On Friday, May 30, 2014, at approximately 9:24 pm, 32 year-old Donta Thrower of Northwest, Washington, DC was shot in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street NW and later died.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, 19-year old Abdul Fields was arrested pursuant to a Booking Order and a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, charging him with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in connection to the death of Donta Thrower.”

Arrest Made in Afternoon Stabbing/Robbery

“The Metropolitan Police Department announced that arrests have been made in an Assault with Intent to Kill incident which occurred on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at approximately 1:10 pm, in the 1400 block of Duncan Street, Northeast, where an adult male robbery victim was located suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel in critical condition.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Taskforce and First District Detectives Unit arrested 18 year-old Shaquan Gaskins of Southeast, charging him with Assault with Intent to Kill while Armed pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. Additionally, members of the Taskforce arrested 20 year-old Dasean Cheadle of Southeast, charging him with Robbery pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.”

“On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at approximately 11:29 pm, a DPW Parking Enforcement agent was shot at while conducting official duties in the 1000 block of Mount Olivet Road, Northeast.

On Friday, February 27, 2015, at approximately 12:00 pm, members of the Fifth District Detectives office arrested 30 year-old Brigette Robertson of Northwest, charging her with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, an arrest was made in connection to two carjackings which occurred throughout the District of Columbia.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at approximately 1:40 p.m. officers from the Second District received a call for two armed carjackings in progress. The first carjacking occurred in the 3100 block of P Street, NW. The second carjacking was in close proximity and occurred in the 2600 block of P, Street, NW. In both carjackings a suspect approached an operator of a vehicle, and demanded the keys while displaying a gun. The victim in the 3100 block of P Street, NW was able to drive off. The victim in the 2600 block of P Street, NW complied and the suspect drove away in the victim’s vehicle.

Members of the United States Park Police then observed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspects fled at a high rate of speed. Park Police Officers continued to follow the suspect. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit the suspect was apprehended by members of the U.S. Park Police. After further investigation by MPDC detectives, 21 year-old Ronald E. Johnson, of Northwest, D.C was arrested and charged with two counts of Armed Carjacking and one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.”

“On 02/25/2015, at approximately 7:20 pm, members of the 3rd District VICE Unit were patrolling the 1300 block of Columbia Road, NW when they contacted two adult males who were seated within a motor vehicle in the parking lot of said location. Upon contact with them, both subjects were found in possession of narcotics and a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol. Both adult male subjects were arrested and charged accordingly.”

Props the Cops and Good Samaritans – Package Thief Caught in Columbia Heights

“On February 18, 2015, MPD units responded to the scene for a theft in progress that occurred in the 1400 block on Monroe Street, NW. A witness observed the suspect steel a package from the porch of a resident. Another good Samaritan later stopped the suspect and held him until the police arrived. PSA 409 Officer Tran responded and after his investigation arrested the suspect for 2nd Degree Theft. This is a great example of community members being vigilant and assisting the police with taking suspected thieves off the street.”
