From Bluejacket [300 Tingey Street, SE]:

“To cap off a week of phenomenal DC Beer Week events, we are going to cut the ribbon on Bluejacket’s new Bottle Shop & Tasting Room, located adjacent to the brewery and restaurant, on Saturday, August 15th,beginning at 11am and running until 4pm. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the renovated space, sample some classic, vintage and rare Bluejacket brews on draft, and shop our expanded bottle selection.

For this special occasion, our brewing team is busy bottling some of the season’s best suds, and you can expect a bevy of our rarest bottles on the shelves for the occasion, some of which have never been released before (including Whiskey Barrel-Aged Mexican Radio!). We will have no fewer than 20 different Bluejacket brews available by the bottle for this event, and you can check out the list below for what we have in store. We’ll also have 6 brews on draft in the Bottle Shop & Tasting Room, including Forbidden Planet, Jackal, Lost Weekend, Red Wine Barrel-Aged Swirl, The Jam and Whiskey Barrel-Aged Double Mexican Radio.

Additionally, we’ll be selling tickets to the event (deemed the “Best Beer Festival in DC”) at Bluejacket throughout the day, plus giving away 2 VIP tickets (which are nearly sold out)!

She'Brew Poster

From Compass Rose:

“Our Big Beer Week event! We decided to focus our Beer Week special around an issue close to our hearts at Compass Rose: Women in the Bar and Restaurant Industry. We are a female owned and female run business so we thought it appropriate to introduce D.C. to She’Brew from Shamaltz Brewing Company!

She’Brew: 22oz beer with 11% ABV. Big bottles intended for splitting between two people. The first She’brew Beer is a giant and luscious Triple IPA that pours bright apricot with a silky white head. She’brew hides her strength behind a beautifully balanced, drinkable triple IPA.

For our band special we will have late night happy hour pricing on draft beers and rail cocktails including the He’brew Hop Manna, another great IPA from Schmaltz Brewing.

We will be donating to the Pink Boots Society scholarship fund, a global non-profit that aims to advance women in the beer business. Schmaltz Brewing will also donate proceeds to Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region (Albany, NY) whose mission is to inspire all girls to be “Strong, Smart and Bold.” Schmaltz Brewing already supports this cool non-profit through sales of She’Brew. We will be contributing a donation based off of She’Brew sales during all of Beer Week.”

Ghost Can Label

From a press release:

“On June 25, 2015, 3 Stars Brewing Company will release their first ever canned beers. Just in time for summer, the Ghost White IPA and Citra Lemon Saison will be the first canned beers to debut. Packaged and canned at the brewery by River City Mobile Canning, these tall boys come in 4-packs and will be available for purchase at most local DC retailers.

DC-grown and taste-driven, 3 Stars is taking summer sipping to a whole new level with two of their favorite warm-weather beers. The Citra Lemon Saison (5.2%abv) has subtle citrus notes and a touch of tartness, making it a perfect pair for grilled barbeque chicken and backyard parties. The Ghost White IPA (5.9%abv) with its bright finish and lingering hop bitterness is best served alongside seared fish and poolside rays.

The 16-ounce tall boys are easy to spot. Look for the 3 Stars family shield and familiar skull logos wrapping the cans. The green/yellow/orange Saison and silver/white/blue Ghost White IPA labels are both designed by Kendra Kuliga of Cielo Productions, whose work can be seen across 3 Stars materials, website and on-site at the brewery.

Get bigger flavor in bigger cans. Grab a 4-pack (or more) of 3 Stars’ new cans starting June 25 at the brewery or a fine retailer near you.”

From a press release:

“DC’s monstrous craft beer festival touches down on The Yards on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Now in its fourth year, Snallygaster, named for the fearsome and toothy mythical beast said to terrorize the region at the turn of the century, has cemented itself as the largest, highly curated beer festival in the area. A benefit for Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture, Snallygaster is once again setting new heights tapping no fewer than 300 unique craft beers, featuring more than 10 of DC’s finest food trucks & vendors, multiple musical acts, entertainment, games, family fun and more.

Beer Director Greg Engert, the man behind the beer programs at Bluejacket, Birch & Barley, ChurchKey, GBD, Rustico and more, will be curating the beer list. True to form, Greg will once again go above and beyond last year’s list with no fewer than 300 brews all handpicked from the finest brewers around the world. Guests can expect to find a number of DC debuts, beers rarely–if ever–available in the District; an array of autumnal releases; German-styled and German-inspired beers; a collection of cask ales, barrel-aged brews; Franconian gravity-poured/rubber-clad kegs; a slew of craft cans; brand-new Bluejacket small batch releases, and an artisanal cider garden.

On the food side, a collection of DC’s most popular food trucks and vendors will be dishing up delicious eats for festival attendees. Participants include Red Apron Butcher, GBD, Big Cheese, DC Empanadas, DC Slices, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Lemongrass Truck, Tasty Kabob, Cajunators, Pork Barrel BBQ, Mess Hall, Rappahannock Oyster Co. and more.
