Help Support Chef Omar’s Road to Recovery

Sad news out of Lapis (1847 Columbia Road, NW):

“We’re heartbroken to share that our friend and colleague, Chef Omar, recently suffered a severe stroke.

He’s been with us since day one and has shaped every kitchen he’s worked in—from Café Bonaparte to Lutèce.

Please consider donating to support his recovery. Every bit helps. (more…)

Thanks to Daphney (and everyone else) for passing on the sad news from Chef Johnny Spero:

“This is meant to be celebratory—so please don’t take it any other way.

She supported her four kids and put them all through college… She was an amazing woman! (more…)

AND they’ve applied for a liquor license too:

“A Restaurant serving pizza, pasta, & steaks. Seating for 128 inside the premises. Summer Garden with seating for 40. Total Occupancy Load of the entire establishment is 168.”

Without further ado, that sneak peek: (more…)
