As a Friendship Heights resident, I’m very excited for Trader Joe’s (and bummed it looks like we’ll have to wait till after Thanksgiving!), and am also hoping that Total Wine brings folks to the area and helps breathe some more life into it.

“Dear PoPville,

I recently opened a small gifts shop on the 1500 block of U ST NW called Queertown (1520 U ST NW, in the previous Big Planet Comics space), which offers merchandise specifically curated for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. In an effort to increase some awareness of the shop, and for a good cause, tomorrow, I’m throwing a fundraiser for Whitman-Walker from 1 to 4 PM. (more…)
