This past weekend, a malnourished, disabled, and severely neglected senior Yorkie was discovered in the garbage of a DC apartment complex after being thrown down the trash chute. She was miraculously discovered by someone who called animal control, and rescued by Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue.

Wondering if you have any insight into this crazy situation we are having on our block in NoMa.

It looks like someone, likely a neighbor, is actively trying to get more rats on the block. As in not just being sloppy, but going out of their way to go into other peoples’ trash cans, rip open their garbage bags, and throw the garbage on the ground. (more…)



1300 block of Florida Ave, NW

Lots of chatter from folks lamenting the sight of dog excrement around town.

My take:

This happens after every snow storm. Hell some despicable folks don’t pick up after their pets in any weather. I believe the dog crap is just more noticeable contrasting on the white snow. Some people are just jerks in any season. Having said that, there are also currently trash cans overflowing with poop bags. So pick your poison I guess…



18th and M Street, NW
