Liquor license placard had finally been posted in Georgetown:

“A full-service Japanese ramen restaurant. Seating for 101 and capacity of 135 inside. Summer Garden with seating for 50. Total Occupancy Load of 185. Entertainment Endorsement to provide live entertainment inside of the premises only. Holiday Extension of Hours Endorsement. Streatery Endorsement with 30 seats. Alcohol Carry-out and Delivery Endorsement.”

The mid May projection was legit!!

The official word straight from Trader Joe’s corporate:

“Trader Joe’s Store in Washington (Brookland) to Open May 15th

Grand opening celebration to include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, samples and giveaways

On Thursday, May 15th, Trader Joe’s will open a new Washington (Brookland), D.C. store. The new store is located at 701 Monroe Street NE. This 11,000 sq. ft. store is across the street from the Arts District. There is a dedicated parking garage on 8th Street where customers get 90 minutes of free parking with validation at the kiosk in-store. (more…)

I thought the community might be interested/concerned about an incident this morning in Sherman Circle.

At about 10am Saturday morning man and woman were heard arguing in a blue SUV (maybe a GMC with temp tags) along Kansas Ave just north of Sherman Circle, leading the man walking off into the adjacent grass area, yelling continuing. This escalates to an exchange of glass bottles being thrown at each other. (more…)
