Last month I asked folks to flood our friends at Moreland’s with love as they were enduring brutal construction outside. At that time someone suggested a PoPville happy hour and I say hell yes let’s do it!! So mark your calendars for next Thursday June 5th at Moreland’s Tavern (5501 14th Street, NW at Kennedy.) The Washington Post’s Rachel Weiner with the big news:

“The DC Streetcar will be phased out after just a little over a decade in service — not much longer than it took to build. In its place Mayor Bowser promises a “next generation streetcar,” otherwise known as an electric bus.(more…)

From MPD:

“The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northwest.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at approximately 3:59 a.m., Third District officers responded to the 1600 block of 14th Street, Northwest, for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, unconscious and not breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. (more…)
