What brazen thieves, breaking in to homes when people are there?! So sorry that you lost your new car OP…

Just call your insurer. The thieves will trash the car and dump it. If you find the car, I can promise you will NOT want it back. It usually will have physical damage and perhaps even be used as a toilet. Unfortunately, I’m not joking.

OP here, unfortunately my insurance wasn’t comprehensive (I was rushed at the dealer to get it set up on my phone) so insurance can’t do anything. Really hoping we can find it.

I know it’s a long shot, but see if there’s anything your homeowners can do for you. The stolen car resulted specifically from the burglary of your home, so maybe there’s some loophole it fits in.

This happened to me as well (although I was not home when they broke in). Car was found abandoned (trashed) a few weeks later. Also, consider freezing your credit, identity theft is not uncommon when they get your documents.

This is a great suggestion (freezing your credit). If you have a police report it’s free to do.
