1028 19th Street, NW
We first heard Boston based Boloco burritos was coming to DC back in Nov. 2011. Now they’re about ready to open. I’m told they should open at 1028 19th St, NW between L and K Streets late this week or early next week. You can see their menu here.
And a nice piece of scuttlebutt as well – I hear they’re finalizing a second space in Georgetown too. Looks like they did a great job on the buildout:

That’s less than 2 blocks from the Chipotle at 19th and M. Couldn’t they have spread out the burrito love a bit more?
That’s what SHE said!
WOO Hoo! I love Boloco!! I had one on my campus in college. Sigh. The memories.
And regarding the placement near the Chipotle…Boloco burritos aren’t exactly Mexican. At my school there was one literally facing a Qdoba, but they were different enough not to be redundant.
Remember when we used to call these wraps? I remember a place just above Dupont Circle, where Circa is now, that had a very similar concept.
Boloco’s name used to the The Wrap. They changed it to Boloco sometime in the mid 2000′s
Man this place is…. not good. I nearly choked on one of their dry flavorless burrito bomb concoctions. Chipotle is still the king.
