Dear Pop – Policy Restaurant Update

DSCN7000, originally uploaded by Prince of Petworth.

“PoP,

It looks like these guys are finally opening up;  I looked through the glass yesterday and they actually have furtniture in place.  Also they’ve updated their website, www.policydc.com; apparently they’re opening up on Monday.  Have you heard anything about upstairs?  There was supposed to be a Sushi Restaurant on the second level.”

I stopped by Policy (located on 14th and T Streets, NW) this weekend and chatted with executive chef, Brian Murphy.  Policy will not be opening on Monday but will definitely be open by the end of March.  I was given a brief tour and lots of progress had been made but I could certainly see a few more weeks of finishing all the details.   However, based on what I saw, it looks like it’s gonna be sweet.  There will be tables and booths on the first floor along with a bar.

The second level will no longer be a sushi restaurant.  It’s going to become a lounge type space that will be part of Policy.  There was a sweet graffiti artist commissioned to decorate the upstairs.  And in the warmer months the second floor will also offer an outdoor eating area.  You can see the menu at Policy’s Web site here – www.policydc.com.  I’ll update with more info and photos as they become available.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
