“Jackey Cafe (611 H St. NW) is closing on April 4 — let’s show them some love! Facing rising rents and food costs, Jackey Cafe has made the difficult decision to shutter their doors after *40 years* of serving DC Chinatown.

From Compass Rose shares the news on IG:

Compass Rose as you’ve known it for 11 years is going to close on T street at the end of this month. June 1 will be its last day of service. It’s been a hell of a ride but it’s time for Compass, the nomad that she is, to move West. Compass Rose will take a little summer vacation with plans to open back up in a few months in the space, but as something very different that we hope still serves our neighborhood well. Petworth, yes, this is what the Petworth Safeway aka the Smelly or Stinky Safeway, looked like back in the day and my God did it stink (though super nice staff.)
