“Dear PoPville,

According to folks at The Passenger in Shaw, this weekend was them + Qui Qui’s (“Bringing the Authentic flavors of Puerto Rico to the Nation’s Capital.“) last night because someone bought out the building 😭 the new owners want to turn it into a tavern but nobody has been told anything. We’re devastated 😭”

El Centro opened their Georgtown location at 1218 Wisconsin Ave, NW in the old Third Edition space back in 2013! They closed their Logan Circle location back in 2020.

The note says in part: “The Building has chosen not to renew our lease, so we will be closing our doors at this location.”
