On Thursday I shared the great news that Taqueria Xochi “will be moving to our own full-time location on U Street in DC in September”. I happened to walk by on Saturday and the owners told me this is where they’ll be located. They plan on painting the space pink so we can’t miss it. Stay tuned for an exact opening date. (more…)

When we learned Taqueria Nacional had reopened at 14th and T St, NW, lots of folks asked about their Mount Pleasant location. Thanks to Katherine for sending the update on Saturday: “Taqueria Nacional in Mt. Pleasant is reopening next week. This makes me happy.”

One of the old pastry chefs that worked at China Chilcano by José Andrés got furloughed and she never got any help from unemployment so she opened her own business. A little taqueria. They’re currently popping up at little beast in Chevy chase with hopes of getting their own space. Her food is delicious. They’re popping up at little beast everyday! She writes: “I just moved to Petworth about 10 days ago, and yesterday I passed the new location for Taqueria Distrito Federal – 805 Kennedy, so a block or so off Georgia. Here’s a picture. I’m excited! Never eaten there before, but it’s just a couple blocks from where I live and on my walk home, so… won’t be long!”
