Ed. Note: While most agree that the National Guard should not be deployed to DC in the first place, if they are here they might as well help. Having said that I have received a couple reports of National Guard troops helping push out stuck motorists. Having said that…

Rough news from Rose Ave (2633 Connecticut Ave, NW):
“As you know, Rosebuds, we were extremely excited about reopening today to serve you all. However, when our bakers arrived at 2AM this morning – our bakery has, yet again, been flooded. I live near 17th St NW and Kalorama Rd and wanted to share an incident from this afternoon.
Around 1:00 p.m. today (January 27, 2026), an 18-wheeler making a delivery to the Harris Teeter at 17th St and Kalorama Rd attempted to pull out of the loading dock heading northbound on 17th St. The truck quickly became stuck and began spinning its wheels on the ice.
