Water main break, pipe bursts, and “maintenance” issues hit small businesses around town

Rough news from Rose Ave (2633 Connecticut Ave, NW):

“As you know, Rosebuds, we were extremely excited about reopening today to serve you all. However, when our bakers arrived at 2AM this morning – our bakery has, yet again, been flooded. We suspect it may be due to a water pipe bursting in the walls, making it impossible to operate. Until it is resolved it is unsafe for our staff and guests. Hopefully,

it will be fixed by tomorrow. We will post updates as we get answers.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and are appreciative of your understanding. 🌹

We were truly hoping & praying that all the water issues/flooding would’ve stayed in 2025 😭”

And from Baked and Wired (1052 Thomas Jefferson St, NW):

“Baked and Wired will be closed Wednesday due to a water main break. We will reopen once repairs bring water back to us. Stay safe and stay warm! 💜”

And from Union Pub (201 Massachusetts Ave, NE):

“Not the update we wanted to give, but we’ll unfortunately remain closed through Wednesday, January 28 due to a maintenance issue.

Our apologies for teh inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.”
